Hey everyone,

Name is Jeff, I run a small forum with my wife about road trips and cross country driving. Came across this place from BotScout. Found BotScout from Gunner's new fslc app. Found Gunner at StopForumSpamm. Found out about StopForumSpam from a phpbb3 add-on, the Anti-Spam Control panel (or something). 2blahs 2blahs 2blahs 2blahs

Anyway, after collecting what seems to be an endless supply of/need for API keys, here I am! Though I'm a bit hesitant about posting a link to my forum for obvious reasons... >>< >><

I hate spam. I have run forums that varied in interests for over 15 years, back when they were static html pages, then later, perl scripts. I'm also a former supporter of two very large communities: The Coppermine Gallery forum and the Automotive Forums community -- the latter where my sole duties were to identify and eliminate spam and spammers. So I am no stranger to spam or running/administering/moderating communities. I am however, quite the n00b when it comes to actual programming. My skills there are close to nothing :-)

I'm 43, drive a New York City bus for a living and am planning to relocate to southern Utah next year. In the interim, I block countries from accessing my site. LOL

Thanks for having me and looking forward to learning something.

Jeff

Not a computer geek, but have thousands of other pictures. I travel cross country frequently, so I have those. Have driven buses for 15 years, so I have those. Did a lot of work on the house, so I have those. It's snowed 87 feet this year, so I have those. You get the idea ...

Am I allowed to link my gallery pictures/forum site in the signature here, or is that frowned upon?

All that sounds great, and yes you can link to your pix.

My "workstation" would be my vacation-mobile. If you're interested in taking a featureless generic minivan and converting it from an 8-passenger soccer-mom vehicle to a two-passenger motel-on-wheels, have a look here:

(Reference link removed due to closure of website)

Note however, this is a highly image-intensive post that will take some time to load. And really, it offers more pictures than documentation or instruction, but it's something to give you an idea of what I do in my spare time.

You are very detail oriented. Congrats and thanks for sharing your conversion process. The pictures are worth a prize, Mindblower! chrz

Thank you. Yes, I'm a meticulous person indeed. A place for everything and everything in its place, and so forth.

That thing is a work in progress, but I'm just about done installing everything I wanted to install. The last thing will be a flip-out eating table from the under-side of the bed. I'd also like to build a shelving area where the cooler is now in the rear of the van up to the roof, with locking doors to secure stuff. Oh, and a bolted solid platform for the coffee maker :-)

Anyway, thanks again!

That is some project you've taken on, looks like a lot of work and a labor of love
