A few times when i load a particular game of my son i get a malware warning of win32/drop Exel_im or 1m. however i can't find anything on the net re this item if you could shed some light it would be great i did a hijack this log here it is.

As to the Hijackthis log, nothing odd there, just some remnants of an uninstall from MyWebSearch.

Open HiJackThis and run another scan.

Once it's completed the scan, look over the following entries I have listed, place a check in the boxes next to them as listed(some may not be present due to previous instructions): and press the 'fix' button. When you are doing it, make sure you have no browser windows open, including this one.

Reboot, run another scan with HJT and **attach** the log and advise of any ongoing or new problems as well as providing any info and or logs requested above.

Hi well i see now that there is some other people on the net starting to find this malware, yes you are correct i am using CA av up until this week i have had very few problems. CA gives me no details other than the infection name Win32/Drop Exel_im. i Carried out the steps you outlined previously then rescanned here are the results.

i jut installed a new game and the cd code i entered it and it told me the cd code i entered was wrong when i checked it the code was completely different to the one i had entered. Even typing this respose the screen is scrolling all over the text box and my mouse is going crazy any thoughts????

Do they have any way to get a log of detections of any kind? Or a history?

The HijackThis log looks like it got cut off, can you please run another scan and post the log?

As to the game, I would uninstall it and see if things return to normal.

Did you uninstall the other software and correct those issues?

I suggest you try posting at the CA forums to see what they can offer about that detection

yes its a virus coming with the online game bought from a vendor very strange will be sending them an email asking for my money back thank you very much for your help. will post at the CA forum see what else is found.
